RestoreCare™
Champion designed RestoreCare to provide for the sustained performance of your technology infrastructure around the clock — and for fast, seamless recovery in the event of primary systems failure due to fire, natural disaster or other hazard. RestoreCare analyzes and validates the adequacy and efficiency of your current backup and recovery plans.
The RestoreCare process is comprised of four steps: inventory/review, analysis, report/recommendations and follow-up services.
First, Champion conducts a complete inventory and review of your backup and restoration environment. Included are reviews of microcode and firmware levels for all backup devices and their attached controllers and tape system firmware; backup software; and a discussion of backup and restore elements in your disaster recovery plan.
Second, we analyze the performance of the backup system by measuring the performance of all tape drives, disk input/output on backup servers, and the backup network.
Third, we provide you with a written report and recommendations to improve your backup/disaster recovery system. We identify configuration changes, plus applicable software fixes and upgrades, to enhance performance and address potential bottlenecks. We also identify procedural changes that may result in a higher probability of success.
Fourth, we provide necessary follow-up services, as indicated by the information gathered. These services may include restoration of representative system(s) on your spare server to verify backup and recovery procedures; upgrades of firmware and/or microcode levels on the backup server and tape hardware; and assessments of projected tape and disk capacity growth on the backup server.
